PRE-SUBMISSION SUPPORT

The pre-submission support for Research Reports, Oral Communications, and Poster Presentations is intended for novice or inexperienced researchers who have limited access to expert advice and who would like to receive guidance from more experienced PME researchers. This includes presentation of the content, formal aspects, scientific style and general (English) language support. The support procedure is organized along the following steps:
          i. Applicants submit their manuscript for language support to the organization (pme.regional@kku.ac.th) at least four weeks prior to the submission deadline (i.e. see important dates in Section 8). The manuscript should be “ready for submission” as much as possible.
ii. The coordinator will then assign the paper to an appropriate mentor.
iii. The mentor will read the manuscript and add comments using the comment function of a word processing system. The mentor will also include a short overall feedback to the manuscript, highlighting the main issues and hints on how to approach them.
iv. The mentor will answer questions from the author to clarify his comments, if necessary. The mentor will not consider the paper a second time.
          v. The author revises his paper and submits it for the conference (see above).
Pre-submission support is intended to ensure that the author’s ideas and research results are presented in a comprehensive way. The mentors will not provide feedback on the research itself (such as content of the background or discussion, chosen methods of research and analysis). These aspects are considered in the same way for all papers during the peer review procedure. In particular, this mentoring does not guarantee acceptance, as all submitted papers will still undergo the regular reviewing procedures.
